Deshmukh belongs to a traditional Marathi family from Latur. His father, Late. Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh was a member of the Indian National Congress. He was even elected as the chief minister of Maharashtra and enjoyed two terms as an effective state representative. He had several ministerial positions in his entire political career which made him an integral part of the Indian Politics. Riteish’s mother was a homemaker and stayed away from the politics.
He is the second oldest child in the family of three children. His elder and the younger brother are active politicians trained under their father’s wing. Amit is the name of the eldest child in the family while the younger one is named Dheeraj.

Riteish Deshmukh was born on 17th December 1978 in Latur. Deshmukh went to the G. D. Somani School in Mumbai. He completed his degree in architecture from the Kamla Raheja College of Architecture. Later, he worked as an architect for an overseas firm. Upon returning to India, he continued to work as a designer until he turned his attention towards the Bollywood. Even today, Deshmukh has ownership in the Evolutions, which is one of the famous architectural firms in the country.
The Bollywood Entry
Riteish started off his career in the B-Town by featuring in a romantic movie titled Tujhe Meri Kasam alongside the debutant, Genelia D’Spuza. The film failed at the Box Office nor did it receive any attention from the critics. He then acted in Out of Control, a comedy drama which received the same fate as his debut movie. The first couple of films in his career failed to trouble the Box Office numbers.
The most needed recognition came to Riteish in the form of Masti. Critics thought that he had plenty of room to improve, but even then, the movie managed to earn some profits from the audiences. Later, he was cast into a couple of films titled Bardaasht and Naach respectively. Both the films were major Box Office failures which added to the poor run of the actor.
Riteish finally cemented his position in the B-Town by a prolific performance in the sex comedy, Kya Kool Hain Hum.
