He received critical acclaim from the critics as well as the audiences. However, the film didn’t fare well at the Box Office. The startling debut set the stage for the actor, who started receiving several offers after a promising debut.
He was then paired with Dia Mirza in his second film, Dewaanapan. His performance received mixed reviews from the critics and film panned at the Box Office. The last and actor’s third film of 2001 was Moksha where he was paired with Manisha Koirala. Just like his previous two films, even this film failed to perform at the Box Office. However, it was much appreciated by the critics.
His first ever Box office success came with Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Aankhen. For the first time in his career, he got the opportunity to work with superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Sushmita Sen. His blind man personification was appreciated by the critics and the audiences. He then followed his success with another flop titled Dil Hain Tumhara.
